Volunteer Position Description - Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota
Position Title: Exhibitor Booth Representative
Work Location: Various Expos and Events throughout Minnesota
Purpose of the Position: The purpose of the Exhibitor Booth Representative is to share information about the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota with event participants. The mission of the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota is to provide leadership and a unified voice for bicycle education, advocacy and efforts to make Minnesota more bicycle friendly so that more people will ride bicycles more often. In addition, the Exhibitor Booth Representative will encourage participants to become a member of the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Read the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota Fact Sheet.
• Arrive at Exhibitor Booth 10-15 minutes prior to scheduled shift.
• Distribute exhibit booth materials to event participants.
• Engage in conversation with event participants to inform them about the BikeMN and share membership benefits.
Qualifications:
• Minimum education level of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• General knowledge and enthusiasm for bicycling in Minnesota.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse population of event participants.
• Must be energetic, resourceful, and a self-starter.•
Commitment Expected: 2 to 3 Hour Shift at Exhibit Booth
Training: Training for the Exhibitor Booth Representative Volunteer Position will be provided prior to volunteer shift by Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota Volunteer Coordinator. Training may occur on site, just prior to volunteer shift.
