Communications & Development Director
BikeMN is seeking an independent, collaborative, responsible, and experienced leader who understands both the fundamentals, diversity, and complexities of communications, advocacy, and development and has an interest in supporting BikeMN’s education efforts too. You will have had supervisory experience working with a diverse makeup of partners. We define experience as having done 60 percent or more of the responsibilities listed with a strong willingness and demonstrated capacity to learn how to do the others.
You will ensure that BikeMN is building a support network, brand, and reputation consistent with our vision, mission, and guiding principles. You will also set expectations and milestones for BikeMN positioning and fundraising and monitor progress against our goals.
This position offers room for both innovation and growth. As part of the BikeMN Executive Management Team you will work in close collaboration with program staff, the BikeMN board and its committees, partners, funders, and contractors in addition to executing much of the work on your own. This position supervises two advocacy focused program staff, each with significant communication expertise themselves. It also supervises the supporter relations manager (membership, chapters, other supporters and collaborators) and some contractors and interns. The full job description can be found below.
Membership & Accounting Associate
The Membership & Accounting Associate will be an integral team member working across most of BikeMN’s core programs with a central focus on assisting the Supporter Relations Manager with memberships, donations, paying bills, office & storage management, and events. This support will include data collection and entry, printing and mailing donation receipts, merchandise, and handwritten thank you cards, use of the Quickbooks Online accounting system to pay invoices and produce pre-formatted reports, and other core program functions. A great candidate is a self-starter who is detail oriented and interested in learning new things, organized, and able to work independently and anticipate the needs of those around them. Knowledge and lived experience regarding biking and walking is a plus as is strong support for mobility justice initiatives.
