Improving Road User Safety in the School Zone and Beyond

Weekday mornings and afternoons, school zones become a flurry of activity, with many people either arriving or departing a school. People are walking, rolling, or riding in a bus or car. Communities recognize the need for safety in these areas and some are recognizing how school zone safety can be leveraged to benefit the broader community. This webinar will showcase community efforts to improve the safety of school trips in ways that have impacts beyond the school zone. Hear from representatives from the city of Minneapolis, MN; Arlington County, VA; and Kenmore, WA about how they are advancing communitywide safety goals by focusing attention on school zones. This webinar is presented jointly by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center and the National Center for Safe Routes to School.
