Winter Walk to School Day

It’s Winter Walk to School Day on February 7th and I am looking for volunteers that morning to help walk the elementary kids from the Abundant Life Church to school. Depending on how many kids, we will be taking several groups and walk them to school. They can be dropped off as early as 7:30am and last drop off/walk is at 8:10am.

At the Abundant Life Church drop-off, we are going to hand out granola or breakfast bars to the kids, hand out reflective zipper pulls, talk about pedestrian safety, and then we will head out and walk them to the school. We don’t know how many students there will be, so we hope to have several volunteers to help keep them safe on the way to school. The other factor is weather. If for some reason it is too cold for the kids to walk, then we will cancel and reschedule.
Pedestrian safety is definitely something we should be teaching our children as well as encouraging them to get outside and go for a walk.
