| RASC Members, please join us for our Annual Meeting on May 21st! Free pizza will be provided for all RASC Members in attendance. Cash bar available. The RASC Board will present an overview of the past year, including the new trail launched at Northern Heights Park, snowmaking operations at Gamehaven, and successful seasons for the high school mountain biking and nordic ski teams. We’ll also present plans for the year ahead, including work on a new mountain biking skills park at Gamehaven. Board members will be available throughout the meeting to address any questions or suggestions you may have. |
| GUEST SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED!We have two wonderful guest speakers confirmed for the Annual Meeting on May 21st: Dr. Kathryn Larson will talk about research programs underway in Mayo Clinic Sports Cardiology that might be of interest to RASC members, especially masters athletes. Including a Masters Athlete Registry, a Myocardial Stiffness in Masters Athletes Study, and a study of Strength Training and Thoracic Artery Dilatation. Find out if you qualify and learn about some of the sophisticated measurements that are part of these studies. Chase Wark, is a professional gravel cyclist, cycling coach, and event director of Granny’s Gravel Grinder, The Hotdish, The Day Across Minnesota, and The Filthy 50. Many of us met Chase for the first time when he won the 240 Mile Day Across Minnesota gravel race in 12 hours! Chase is passionate about growing the gravel cycling community and getting more people out on bikes. He loves a long ride through the Driftless gravel roads and challenging himself against the best gravel racers in the US at races like Unbound, Big Sugar, and Gravel Nationals. Chase will talk about his journey to gravel riding and racing, his training program, and how he approaches his big races. |
