This year at BikeMN we’re taking stock of the great challenges at the local, state and federal levels that currently face active transportation advocates. This is not new. We’ve been here before, and know that the only thing to do is move forward: one foot in front of the next, one more pedal stroke up that hill. Recalling the great wins we have had recently leaves us feeling thankful for those who have got us here and hopeful for the future, but we know we’re going to need even more help from our supporters to be successful.
Minnesota Rolls On!
Building upon our unprecedented legislative successes in 2023, BikeMN has expanded its focus and collaborative efforts.
- Twelve Chapter organizations spanning the state from Mankato to Duluth!
- Engaging 1000s of participants, volunteers and partners via our flagship trail rides, gravel rides, and our first multiday tour (BAM).
- Supporting the amazing new Minneapolis Cargo Bike Library!
- Expanding our team to increase our communications capacity and presence in Greater Minnesota. (Hi Val in Duluth!)
- Relaunching our Advocacy Committee to engage statewide partners and work on continually expanding our legislative gains.
- Meeting the increasing demand of our Adult Learn to Ride program.
- Expansion of the E-Bike Commuter Assistance Program to the Red Lake Nation and Duluth thanks in part to the unstoppable enthusiasm of members of the Vibrant Streets Duluth chapter of BikeMN and our partners at the Headwaters Regional Development Committee.
This on top of our nation leading bike and pedestrian education that reaches over 130,000 learners across our state every year! So…how does BikeMN continue to expand in these areas amidst increasing pressure to move us backwards?
